INFORMATION FOR BRIX AND BRIXOLOGY EMPLOYEES
It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that, due to the overall economic impact of COVID-19 and the restrictions being placed on restaurants and bars, BRIX/Brixology will have to undertake a difficult layoff action. We are hopeful that we will be able to restore your prior position with our company on a later date.
Effective March 16, 2020, BRIX/Brixology is implementing a temporary layoff of certain positions. This notice is to inform you that your position is included in this layoff. We expect the layoffs to last until the situation with COVID-19 has passed. We will recall laid-off employees as business needs warrant.
This step is necessary as you may be able to apply for unemployment benefits in Texas. Everyone has been paid in full for the pay period that ended March 21, 2020. If you are enrolled in Direct Deposit you should see those funds on the typical day of deposit. If you receive a paper check, those will be available for pick up after 1:00pm on Friday March 27, 2020.

Until that time we have put together some resources:
Click here for information on applying for unemployment in Texas.

For those of you enrolled in our health plan, that coverage will expire on March 31, 2020. However, after that time you have 60 days to apply for COBRA benefits to continue your coverage and then a period of time after 60 days to begin payment. That information will be emailed to you separately from Shawn Simme at BCI.

For those of you that have child support payments deducted by us: please contact the appropriate agency to let them know that the March 27, 2020 paycheck will be the last paycheck that has a payment.

We still plan to offer take out and delivery as long as is permitted and are working on other options for business continuity so we can be ready when we are allowed to resume normal operations.

This is an extremely difficult decision for us to make and we hope that after the dust settles we will be able to resume operations and your employment. Please keep us posted as to how you are doing and how we may best assist you during this time.
Stay healthy and safe,
Don and Nita
